What an excellent outdoor layout, do you have a drawing of the layout design?

Looking forward to see trains on the layout. The size of the layout must be BIG.

You are definitely having too much fun! [IMG] This is the kind of setting that would be great for seeing trains running in video footage!

I'll have some photos of trains on the railroad after Sept 4 - 6, I am hosting my first run, I got a dozen members from the LVGRS club coming for the 3 days.

Today I dug the trench for getting power out to the new part. I had to order more track, so I can finish trestles and connections..

I hear one accucraft live steam engines is coming too.

Lief: The layout size is 110 X 150 feet. I have over 1000 feet of mainline, It takes a steam train, a bit over 9 minutes to travel the railroad, in a roundy roundy mode. I have not tried to see how long it takes to do some operation type running, stopping at water tanks, switching cars at sidings, and following speed restrictions at trestles & tunnels in the point to point mode. But I think it would be close to 45 minutes to an hour from one end to other, then another hour back to the beginning Yard.

Steve Q.: Yep ! thats the same bridge that was on the tailgate of the pickup.

Gabriel: 'ROCK' , Nice PUN !! hehe
Yes being outside and running trains is a load of fun. You get the feeling the train is really going someplace, not just to the other side of the yard I have the room to make the train go some distance to next stop, like the BIG BOYS DO. My switches are hand thrown, and you need to walk with your train, or it will get lost. I have to deal with the weather, and yes I can run in the Rain, Snow, and sunshine. I just have to be carefull not to run when to gets windy.

I live an hour away from Reno, NV. So if anyone is coming to Reno / Tahoe area for a few days, and have time to come out and visit the DS&RG Railroad, Give me a email and let me know. I'll do my best to set up a visit. nvtiny@nvbell.net
