I have only been in the N scale world of this hobby for a little over 2 years, but I am amazed that the MT Illinois State car is fetching over $125.00 on eBay these days. And there are 3 or 4 always listed. I always thought these higher prices were for the older or very special Special Runs. I buy my cars to run, but I must admit it I feel a little tinge of guilt when I open a 4-pack or run something like my Illinois car. But I also have a tinge of pride that I'm running them and not letting them collect dust. I can hardly wait to run my GN Circus consist. Just haven't decided on the right engine, and I still need #2.

A couple of these have closed at $159.00. One can only imagine what this car will be worth when the runs ends. [IMG]

...or the craziness to get the DC car to complete the collection since it's a special run NSC car? Just nutso...

What make the DC car so special? I live in DC and that car should be a freebie!

The way I see it, it's those of us that run the special cars that makes the collectors "never been used" cars worth more money. They may be making money on them but we are the ones who are truly eNjoying them. [IMG]

I was equally suprised to see the PWRS Intermountain "Circus" CN Cyl. Hopper that was sold by PWRS for 30$ and was up for auction at 150$ and people had actually bid on it. It's a nice car, but not worth 2 good-quality locos.
