Today I attended the model railroad show in Atlanta. They had a great selection of N-sclae, probably the best I have ever seen even though the overall show seemed a bit smaller than past dates. At one table, I saw a line of freight cars that were packaged in 3-car sets. The ones I was interested in were special runs that this company comissioned InterMountain to run--they had several varieties of covered hoppers: Chessie grain hoppers repatched for CSX or B&O, Family Lines covered hoppers, and some nicely done Norfolk Southern hoppers. As I said , these are special runs done by InterMountain for this company. I intended to go back and load up, but one thing led to another, we left to do some shopping, and by the time I got back the show was closed...and this one is just a one day show...bummer! Question is, does anyone know what company this was that sells these and any merchants that carry their line? I can't believe I didn't at least write it down, but then again I was planning to buy right then. These cars will fit in perfectly on my current layout. Thanks in advance, Jamie.

Actually, looks like these cars are available from InterMountain via the normal channels, although I do not see them packaged together (which is fine because there is no discout for the 3-car set vs. three individual cars). Wierd...these cars definitely had a third party name with "manufactured by InterMountain" on the box. Oh well, doesn't matter how I get them I suppose. Jamie

Don't think so...I am familiar with NSC and I had not really heard of this company before. Jamie

Maybe a clubs over run to make some cash . Thats almost always the method applied to the commissioning of cars . Make enough for your needs , sell the left overs to pay for the whole run .

Yes! Thanks...for once it is not my swiss cheese memory, I just didn't pay attention because I figured I would be buying them sometime during the day. Their packaging is also about the best I have seen. Jamie
