Way back in the mid 90's there was a line of diecast cars and trucks put out by Racing Champions. You can find them on ebay from time to time. Well, I've got a trianload of them. Superbee's/Daytona's, Dodge Chargers, Mercury's, Firebirds, Mustangs, Dodge Ram pickups, Chevy 1500's, Dodge Vipers. All in all, I've probably got 100 or so. They are really about 1/150 scale but work pretty well. I'll put up a couple shots with the vehicels included here in a few minutes.
Very nice. I am new to this and havent found that many nice American cars. I will check out some on ebay this evening.
Here's a pic with a few of the vehicles I can't take all the credit for the scenery and theme of the various scenes. That's my wife's job. She is into this layout big time. The only issue is she can spend $ on details faster than I can get everthing ready for her. As you can see, she's got about 1/3 of the scenery done and I haven't even finished the streets yet. She's itchin' to get movin' on the downtown area but I can't find the material to cover the retaining wall. I think there used to be a co called Holgate and Myers that made sheets of plastic that you paint, etc. that look really good. I better get the Walthers Catalogue out an get going. Otherwise she'll start ballasting!!!
Lots of action.. Here is one of my wife's favorite scenes. She really got a lot going on in an 8" square area. 1. woman hanging up laundry 2. woman carrying in laundry basket 3. girl running away from bears 4. old woman watching girl running from bears 5. another woman heading to the outhouse 6. runaway horse team with wagon going up the hill
