    Hi Noah,

Adding to what Jim said, they do articulate (is that the right term?). The base of the blade clips into the mount and can pivot about 10 degrees in either direction. The tip rests freely in the sling and sways back and forth as well. I glue both the mound and slings in place and the blades still have plenty of room to move, even down to 11" curves! (just beware of adjacent tracks and equipment) Jim's method actually is prototypical as some designs do have a sliding sling mount. However those mounts usually grip the blade tip firmly without a sling. At 1:30 in this video, you can see the sling action clearly.

Here's my video of the Blade Train rolling on the Free-MoNebraska layout at the Council Bluffs Train Show two weeks ago. Check out that action through the ess curves at the end!

Visitors in town! A pair of Mitch Legg's (Leggy) SD80s custom painted and detailed by Brian Kuhn (Flight 2000) are at the Oakville fuel rack. We'll be seeing more of them...

Some folks are curious about the Sub - and I really didn't have a track plan handy. Managed to resurrect 3rdPlanIt and here's what I came up with - finally an up to date plan! It's not accurate to the inch, but pretty close, so for those who are curious, here Ya go:

Nice to see them on the layout Jim. I see some of the paint on the handrails came off already, either that or Conrail really wants to make a come back and is just bursting to get out. :)

Actually, just the front handrails are from a Conrail unit, the rest of the body started as an undec. I've had the worst run of luck with Kato handrails lately. If you have any Reefer Orange on hand, that's the color for the GDRMCo...

    Cheers,
    Brian

Intermodal has picked up since the West Coast ports settlement has taken effect - a hot double stack rolls past Oakville yard:

I believe those are the new Maxi's from DI. I can't wait to get mine in the mail.

Jim, who makes those containers and are there any brands that you know off that won't fit in the cars.

    Cheers,
    Brian

Bill, they're all DIs - on their maiden run - and some you can't see :) Worth the wait!

Brian, the containers are the Con-Cor 53 footers. Their rivets are 'way oversize, but they fit nicely. This is a new mold for Con-Cor, I believe, it's quite a bit different from their previous offering. I normally ignore anything Con-Cor, but they're about the only game in town for 53 footers. And they have the more modern decoration as well. I've not tried other containers as yet, sorry.

Jim, sorry for commenting so late on this. But your blade train looked perfectly
at home on your layout. Very well done.

Jim if you need a ton of realistic and all of the up to date name scheme containers of all sizes? Why don't you try the printable ones of the Internet. You print them on thick card stock or even thicker photo paper. Put them together and your off and running. Very detailed prints. Can't tell the print from plastic molded ones from a distance.

    Jim,

Have you had a chance to try the Kato 53' containers in the DI Maxi IVs?

The double stacks are awesome looking. Idk about printing out more modern containers. The Jbhunt 53's are current. If its the same on the west coast as it is here in pa, the NS railyards are probably 60% or more Jbhunt. I think your train looks perfect lol.
I pull containers out of the rail yards here in pa. All the Jbhun . Containers are missing is the 2 black dirt streaks that run up each end from the train wheels lol.
    Amazing as usual jim.

Nice looking train! As an intermodal hoarder, I need all 24 road names and numbers of this release.
I'm sure I already have enough containers to fill them. Sigh...
