These folks have just announced a huge line up of new products. GP30's, PA's and PB's, a new "modern" Hudson and a great sellection of passenger cars.

Sadly :( none of these items are on my personal want/need list but they sure do indicate the strength of the hobby.

If I stay at around long enough and I'm sure to see a C-630 or a M-636. Even an SW-1200 would be great. :D

That is an exciting line up of new models. Could even tempt me into the scale. [IMG]

    Yeah! A 636 would be awesome :D

I sure wish that someone would go with a modern diesel. I like the Aristo SD-45, but would love a BIG GE to be offered. Seems like everyone wants steam, or first generation diesel.

    Right!

The word "modern" covers a lot of territory in the model world. You often hear of "modern steam engines".

After years of GP9's in N scale, and then in G, for me "modern" means anything as new as the SD40-2's (not a SD45 fan) that I can run on my wider radious curves. But when you think of it, the first ones I ever watched in action were at Moose Jaw in the early 70's. That makes them nearly 30 years old. Geeze!

I kinda' like the look of newest GMD units better than the GE offerings, just a style thing, but you may have to wait 'till 2025 for a good model. ;)

    Patience is a virtue

I see that the Hudson steamer is priced at $2,300 . I feel that's to expensive for a diecast locomotive.

I then prefer my brass live steamers in G for the same price as this diecast. [IMG]

That's pushing the price envelope all right. Somehow I can't see this engine in the mass market. But hay, maybe I'm just not a part of the mass market like I thought I was.

I can do a whole lot of railroading for $2300.00 US. :D

Actually the GP30 in Santa Fe blue and yellow sounds like a winner on my railroad. Also a PA in warbonnet. I am interested in USA getting some photos up of the new passenger cars. Also he is listing some freight cars, seems like maybe tank and hoppers.
I just received my first 50' ultimate box car yesterday. A real beauty. Have another one coming, or at least the store hit my credit card for two charges, the same amount.

The Aristo SD45 is starting to sound less appealing, as they are starting to put everything but a refrigerator in that sucker. I use the RCS battery/radio control and would have to go inside that thing and remove half the guts to make room for my control system. Probably will pass on it.

    2300???!!!

Heck, for that money, I could build one maybe two to three live steamers, build a complete HO layout, buy a car, 23 new HO Steam Engines, or just about a years worth of Tuition!!!!

I do not see justification. Not yet, and not later.

I really would like USA to come out with a cylindrical(sp?) hopper! You know what I'm talking about, right? Not the coal hopper's that they're coming out with. I'm so waiting for them to atleast say "we're planning....." but nothing. Maybe I should send them a message about that.
My SD40-2 came with a "model idea" letter to send them for models that I'd like to see them come out with. Maybe I should use it. hehe

Just to make sure, here's a picture of one. But in G scale from USA :D

    Ah well, thanks for reading.
    Later!

Ok, nevermind....just found out that Aristocraft is making some cylindrical hoppers. Hope they're good seeing as they don't have any pictures up yet. However, they are still "in development" so who knows when they'll be out.
