I am in the process of building my first G-Scale layout. I want to have track power and battery power. I have several components for battery power from Aristo, but have heard quite a few people mention RCS. I am brand new at this aspect of railroading (switching from N-Scale), and it really intrigues me. I have more than 30 locos, so I don't think trying to equip each one with battey power is within my budget. Can I build a few locos with self contained battery and electronics, and then perhaps have a trailing car or two with everything built in and just plug it in to the locos without the electronics, etc. Needless to say, I am grateful for any direction or suggestions that you might have.
    Thank you.

I am in the process of switching my 4 G scale engines to battery but just straight battery. i have a loop of track on the wall so radio control is a bit much. My suggestion would be go look at the rc forum on mylargescale myLargescale.com > Community > Forums

the guy that owns rcs is one of the avertisers there and also sponcers the rc portion of the forum. there are many very talented people there that can help

    Noel,
I have 2 engines with RCS and a third to be converted later this month. Since I operate my line as a point to point shortline I have the battery & all elements in the engine, I do not use a battery trail car, but many people do. If you live east of the Mississippi River you should deal with Don Sweet of New England, west of the river contact Dave Goodson of Washington, both guys emails are listed under the RCS website. Two good websites for largescale railroading: Mylargescale.com, also Largescale Central.com You will find the answers to all of your questions.
