Bachmann GP30 There are three Bachmann GP30's in GN here that have the original Spectrum drive. One has a derailment problem I can't find. The best one is this one in BN. It has an Athearn BB GP35 drive and handrails. A bit of filing and trimming to get the Bachmann body to fit the Athearn frame but it sure runs and pulls better than the three original Spectrums
Thanks people for the input, very interesting and helpful...again thanks! ps ...they were spectrums...
Bachmann I have a couple of Bachmanns, a H16-44 and a GP40. Both are okay and pull decently. Of the locomotives that I currently run, the only real dogs are an Athearn RS3 and a couple of Model Power units. The Athearn does not pull as well as the other RS3s, (Atlas). The two Model Power units are very light. I did some checking after purchasing them and found out that the prototypes never existed. You do get what you pay for!!! The only Bachmanns i own are military engines. For my normal railroad engines i use athearns or katos
