So, have you gone to Kato's website (the 'request a model' page) and requested that they do a 'standard' (non-flared, earlier version) SD70M lately (along with the Santa Fe SD75M)? There's power in numbers. Let's let them hear that we want THEM to make this model !! With the Athearn model being what it is, Kato has to do this - especially since they already are working on the chassis. So, let's inundate them with requests!! Who's with me? [ 21. I did, and I also asked for a re-run of the Dash 9's in BNSF SuperFleet colors, which they have never done. Christmas is only 11 months away...
Today, I officially asked for a set of SD75Ms to be produced in ATSF Warbonnet. I recently talked to a Kato rep at the recent St. Louis Worlds Greatest Hobby show. He mentioned that Kato keeps track of your model request and who's email it came from. So, asking for a specific model every month (like a re-run of SD40-2s) doesn't influence the vote count. One model one vote.
I also asked for an f40, its long overdue. The sd70/80/90s i own all look the same to me whereas the f4o was a unique looking lil fella. Just my opinion whoppit
I would have liked a SP version SD70 instead of the pumpkin, which I decided I didn't like. ATSF red/silver would have been better. Would have liked ATSF F3A/B in freight colors, and SP F3A/B in black widow, F7A/B in black widow. I do have F7A/B in EL, someday may repaint. It was either that or Soo. Perhaps Intermountain SP or MT SP FT or such. Last time I tried submitting a model, it didn't work, link was broken.
