I’ve notice a Bachmann GP50 in the Norfolk & Western road name on eBay recently and wondered if this is was a new release of this model, or just a new road name over the old mechanism?

If it’s an updated mechanism, does anyone have one or seen one in action that can report on it? Thanks.

It is probably a GP40 as I do not think Bachman released a GP50. Plus the Norfold and Western didn't have GP50s. If it is the GP40 it is not worth the postage.

The "new" GP50's are OK...pretty much typical Bachmann.... pull well, but definitely noisey...Definitely not a Kato!!! Still has open pilots and non-directional lighting. I bought mine in Montana Rail Link (so I know it's the new run).........MRL never had GP50's, but I bought one anyway.....the flying W on one side is backwards! Unless it's something you REALLY want, I'd probably pass.

Yes i have one,, It is the old mechanism EG the old 3 pole motor. So the N&W is new on the old running gear. The only difference being, thay have put dummey knuckel couplings in place of the rapdio type. PS mine runs very well.. Rgds Topsy 4
