    Ron,

You don't have any reason to fear. We are using many of the components from the Atlas SD50/SD60 series drive train, but the frame is all-new. In fact, we've made two new frames, one for the SD40T-2/SD45T-2 and another one (with a different wheelbase) for the SD45-2.

There are no compromises in the major dimensions of the body of any of these models.

    I simply wouldn't permit it.

Or should that be there never was a problem...

Thanks, Nick. This should shut the nitpickers & rivet-counters up (neither of which are welcome in my home).

I like nitpickers and rivet counters.Try using A-1 sauce on the nitpickers(really improves the flavour :D )For the rivet counters just use store brand ketch-up,but be sure to brown both sides evenly. :D :D

I know a lot of folks were up in arms about the supposed used of the Atlas SD50/60 chassis. I am glad that Marty pointed out that Intermountain is using the components with the correct length frames. I too must applaud them for doing their homework as well as being prototypically accurate.

I fully understand both sides of the nit picker debate.... however, folks have been wishing for plastic tunnel motors for years... I think Intermountain could have probably gotten away with producing an incorrect version and still sold a boatload of them; however, like most manufacturers in N scale, they continue to raise the standards. I applaud them and will probably add a few to my fleet ;)

No sweat Catt- I have a Texas-sized barbecue pit, specially dug to roast those critters on a spit (even rotation is the key here, my Rottweiler Fluffy like's 'em evenly cooked) :D :D
