This was the Larry Baggerly collection. I forgot to add that. Yes, It does look to be during WWII doesn't it.
With that 'PERISHABLE' on the head end, I'd hazard a guess it is NY-6 with the meat from E.St.Louis stock yards. LARRY BAGGERLY
Larry, can you tell us more about NY Central freight schedules? I have some old passenger TT's but don't recall ever seeing a freight TT. :tb-confused:
The FREIGHT SCHEDULES were included in the EMPLOYEE TIME TABLES that were issued at least twice yearly. Headings were "TIME TABLE No. 19 " Effective 2:01 A.M. E.S.T. SUNDAY, APRIL 24, 1966....as an example. These ETTs advised, instructed employees re FIRST CLASS PSGR SCHEDULES , and a myriad of other physical characteristics, that were essential to 'on-going' operations. Along with MAPS, DOCTORS locations, etc....The ETT's were essential to operations. LAB
Forgot to mention that CLASS TWO [FRT] schedules were included in the ETT's up til the mid sixties......If you look thru NYC 'sources' on RAILROAD.NET under the "FORUMS" icon....I think that CASO has a section on FREIGHT SCHEDULES for the entire NYC SYSTEM. The 'old' ETT's listed PSGR,MILK,FREIGHT,LOCALS....[everything] that was a scheduled operation. LAB
Correct. The 1001's were essentially a "PUBLIC" TT, tho over the yrs portrayed freight advertising on occasion. My first brush with the "BLACK BOOK" of NYC System FREIGHT & LOCAL schedules was in 1950, and these system schedules later morphed into a resized loose leaf book with a black cover, later green. PC & CR continued this style...with last ones in '80s, I think. LAB
