Well my avatar says SOO, but also doing CNW.

Power I would like to see: U30C, SD50, SD60, an affordable version of the Dash 9s, SW-1200, and MP-15.

I would love to see a growth in decals and detail accessories. Much like model kits were one can get conversion kits to model a specific subject from a base model.

    Hi everyone

I'd like to see some cars from british columbia railway, a loco would also be nice.
until now there exists only 1 MTL car in 2 different roadnumbers from BCR/BCOL, which forces me to model BCR after the merger with CN :tb-rolleyes:

I'd like to get an sd40-2 like this one:
    http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=210028&nseq=0

and some woodchip gons would be nice!

nice loco and simple paint scheme. once the SD40-2s are out, it wouldn't be hard to have one painted up in BCR. looking at the picture i'm wondering if there are enough lights on the front of that loco. i see a couple of spaces that aren't being used. he he.

Dave, you and your sence of humor. :D Come to think of it, maybe this is a job for Oliver Passman. He likes to do all kinds of lighting. He told me he is doing something special on my SD40.

I'm still hoping for D&RGW GP35s, GP9s, and GP7s. There have been rumors about all for awhile now, but still nothing has appeared. Maybe now that all the announced GP9s have been released, MTL will come through for me soon.

I'm with you on this list. You'd think I'd have more pull around here!! I think there's a good chance we will see SP overnight cars in a runner's pack...and I know for sure we have more SP 40' cars on the way.

    Espee all day!!.

A beet rack is a 40' drop bottom gondola with wooden extended sides. NP, SP&S, and WP used them for woodchip hoppers.

    Hi Loren,

Espee used them to haul sugar beets. Long unit trains took the beets to various sugar refineries along the SP rails. These cars were never interchanged with other roads so they didn't have to be upgraded. They were wooden cars with journal boxes.

Jerry DeBene has an interesting thread going on his beet rack models: Sugar Beet Cars Progress - TrainBoard.com

Also, 4X2DSP has at least two 50 car unit trains on his layout. If I can find the video I took of it I'll post it.

The pict in my signature is suppose to be a beet rack unit train. ;)

i've been making some of these (basic general service gons). all i would need to do is add the wood extensions. the one shown is the modern steel side, but i did make one or two with the wood side and cross braces. don't have a picture of that one yet.

I'm primarily an N scaler. I've picked up a few O and HO pieces of Katy prototypes that I've never found in N. Probably the only reason I have no Z scale at all is that I've never seen a Missouri-Kansas-Texas loco in Z. In fact, I've only ever seen about 2 or 3 cars in Z.

Lownen, We Z scalers are simply at the mercy of the manufacturers. Naturally they will do all the larger more popular lines. Some times they surprise us. I think MTL is coming out with a rumored Mexican railroad name shortly. So all is not lost. I would love to see a Spokane, Portland, & Seattle steamer someday. Luckly to make up the slack, there are some really good craftsmen and painters in Z that can do any paint job and decal work you may desire. Cheers, Jim CCRR

Depending on what era you like, you could find a decal of your avatar and paint either a GP7 or GP9 Katy red (or take caboose red and mix white until a pink tint) and have you some z-scale locos. After all it would seem like the day after painting these locos would start fading to their pinkish color. Modeling a later era with the John Deere colors with srtipes would be harder.

i think the royal hudson is one of the most beautiful locomitives of all time. i made one in N scale as close as i could get it. it turned out pretty well, but that was many years ago and it is now long gone.
