Hi everybody...This is my 1st post on your wonderful fourm, and I was wondering if anyone out there could help me with some information. I'm going to try to attach this old photograph of a Southern Pacific Steam Engine, from sometime round the turn of the century. Please bear with me as I've never posted anything here before (I hope I don't screw this up). I was hoping someone might help me figure out were and when this picture might have been taken. Thanks....Regards, Val
Welcome to Trainboard, Val! We're glad to have you here. Your photo of the Espee steamer worked very well! BTW, you can get a FREE Rail Images album here, and post all your train pictures! We also have great modeling forums, from Z and narrow gauge to garden scale. We have active fallen flags and modern railroad forums and other forums as well. Check out all the forums--you may find a new favorite! Judging by the SP loco photo, I'm guessing you're a SP fan. Do you have any other favs? Do you model anything? As for your question, I am not a steam loco guru for any road, I'll leave your question up to the real experts! Again, Welcome!
welcome to... welcome to trainboard valjoy! The 4-4-0s were built from around 1870 to 1930 so most likely around that period if it helps
Thanks everyone...I've been poking around the site and got my avitar and profile all dialed in. It's gonna be Southern Pacific for me. Thanks for the info in my post, I'm such a newbey I need to get all this lingo down. I pick these old photos up on ebay and most sellers are cluless as to location and time. I appreciate your time. Thanks loads...V
Val, welcome to Trainboard! I always like to see new steam contributors here. Have you opened your RailImages account yet? :tb-confused:
Hmmm. Good question. There are a few clues. Turntable. Three stall enginehouse. Wish I had some data to research this one for you. But my specialty isn't SP. Hope somebody has an idea. Welcome to TrainBoard! Boxcab E50
