I am new to the forum. I have been model railroading for about 2 years now. I don't have a layout where I am living currently- Texas, but I do have one at a family member's house- Vermont. I do have some pictures of this layout from last year. I will be getting tons more pictures, maybe a video, this summer when I go up to Vermont.

I am currently building a diorama because I have no layout to take pictures with. It is 4' x 2'4" I will have progress pictures shown over time. I made some scenes while taking pictures.

    Welcome to TrainBoard, HOTrainman!
Good idea working on Dioramas for now! Do you have space for a layout later on?

Are you planning the Diorama to be used on a later layout, or is it a "Just for Now" project?

I made a mistake of starting a diorama with a road, and one turnout with just enough room to run a 2-6-0 off the turnout in all three positions, no more.
It allowed me to run the engine back and forth and 'day dream' for about 7 or 8 months, but the need for a layout grew to where I had to move!
The mistake was I couldn't really use the diorama on the layout I had space to build later. I should have given it some thought. :D

I may be moving at the end of August. I will start my layout there.

the diorama is a just for now project. I was thinking about maybe adding it to the layout, but I'm not so sure yet.

I like the way way you have included construction equipment in the portions of the scene that are actually still under construction. Nice touch. It also makes us want to come back to see more as you progress.

A great way to intruduce yourself to TrainBoard. Welcome.

Nice pics and welcome to the board. For the size of you diorama you could make a small switching layout then incorporate into your other layout.Just a thought.

    sounds like a good idea. I have 2 more pieces. I had a 4' x 8' cut into 3 sections.
