We had pictures for my son’s Little League Team on Saturday. My daughter’s pictures and her game and my son’s game were rained out due to the Nor’easter. I spent some of the weekend directed water in the basement to the drain. We did not get much, just the usual amount in the usual spot. Sunday the family went bowling and then did some things around the house. No modeling this weekend.
Last weekend I attened the mcr regional con for NMRa in Louisville Ky. Thursday night i got to operate on a 14x25 HO New york central Layout with both steam and early diesal. The layout ran flawlessly. All had a good time. Friday we wnt to the Kentucky Railroad museum where they had many fine examples of equipment. At Lunch time we took a 22 Mile ride that they do Now i will get you envious of me. They had a drawing for two people to ride in the two engines . My name was drawn and I got to ride in a ATSF cf7 which is in the original colurs. Here is a picture of the engine I got to ride in http://www.kyrail.org/images/2546e.jpg. Saturday we went To the Paduch & louisville rail yard for some rail faning Alan
Lots of little things done: Another layer of scenery, built a dam and plastered it, river bottom and assorted tinkering
I spent Saturday in CPM's darkroom going over the basics of black and white film and print processing. It's been about 20 years since I had my hands wet, so it was nice to get in there again. Now I've got another medium for my railfan photography experiments. On Sunday, I participated in the Madison, Wisconsin, Flickr group photo walk. We heard a Wisconsin & Southern train crossing the lake outside the Arboretum, but we weren't close enough to see anything on rails (except the rails that carried the bicycle chains for the bikers that went by as we were there). I posted some of my photos late last night. After the photo walk, I took Ryan to the SCWD Youth Group meeting. The kids heard a clinic by one of the SCWD regular members about scenery, and then they showed off the kitbash project buildings that they all built. I took photos there too, and I hope to have them up soon.
Worked on the lighting valance Saturday till about 4AM Sunday. Hosted a couple of friends in the trainroom Sunday and ran trains. Even taped (VHS) some video with a mini-cam located in the train. I'm going to take this tape to my sons' studio and convert it to digital files on DVD.
Nothing in H0 layout. Nothing on my H0 modules. But I did a short test run in the garden. Wasn't too bad. When all leaves and old grass was removed I run two locos around for an hour.
