Jerry, Best of luck with your surgery. I know you didn't think they would ever make a decision on when you could have it.
Well truth be told, the railroad is not the one cooperating. They are still trying to hold up my treatments and force me to poverty. My wife worked with her insurance and got them to cover me and when I sue the company, I will sue for the amount of the surgery also and pay them back.
Jerry, It's safe to say we all care. Wishing you the best...nothing but the best. You take care and we will remember you in each and everyone's way of calling on a higher power to intervene on your behalf. On the legal scene that can be tricky but workable. Looking forward to a healthy recovery...for you!! .
JD, Let me add my 2 cents also. I wish you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. I have learn so much from you in the short time I have been on this forum. I always look forward to all your posts because you a such an experienced modeler with valuable information. Even though I may not comment often, I am there lurking and learning from your experiences. Maybe one day I will have something worthwhile to show you and all the other fellows on this forum. Good luck Jerry and God Speed!
Thanks for the kind words Bob. Like you, I have learned alot from this forum too. I am sure anything you model and post will also teach me something.
Godspeed ! Jerry: Godspeed for a speedy recovery and a pain-free, active life for many years to come! Lesson learned from my mother-in-law who broke her back when 17 - do what they tell you to do. It may hurt - it may seem stupid - but in the long haul you win. Hang in!! Don Malm
I should say...if I don't follow it, Kimberly will be on me in a second! She is going to take a couple weeks off to keep her eye on me. (She's seen me looking down towards the garage lately.)
Jerry, my prayers for a good result and a speedy recovery. Kimberly seems like my Jeanne. When I had complicated surgery on my shoulder in 2000, Jeanne was all over me to do the full set of exercises six times a day, about half an hour each set. Three hours a day in all. After six weeks, I was fully recovered, and the surgeon's star patient. Go get him, Kimberly!
Wow, Jerry, hope you are back on line real soon...building that layout should be great therapy! I join my Santa Fe buddies above in praying for a quick and complete recovery, and satisfactory resolution of the hassle with insurance. Take care in the meantime, amigo!
Best of Luck Jerry........... Had a herniated L-5 disc in 1986, luckily no surgery needed. Get into your therapy as hard as you can, as soon as you can. It WILL hurt, it WILL seem stupid, but in the end it WILL be worth it. Most importantly, just remember it's as hard on your wife and kids as it is on you(halfway through therapy you'll remember this). See you in Ky. in June. John C
Headed down one more time before surgery to get a shot of the caboose on the ATSF Line it will be working eventually. Here we see it trailing a 189 train, a few miles from Richmond Yard.
Sorry I haven't been on this thread for a while. Hope everything goes well with your back. I love the progress on the layout so far.
