    Aloa,

can someone tell me about the new Bachmann Standard Southern Pacific GS4 ?

Where are the varieties between the "old" Bachmann GS4 and the "new" one. Except the new item-number an the DCC feature.

I m unaware of the differences of the GS4.

Are there actually differences or is the rather only advertisement?

Can one compare the quality now to Spectrum?

    Maybe someone have detail pictures

Not much really, just new drive, updated shell tooling, installed DCC, setup to accept sound, LED lights front and rear, removal of the offending oil spreader(smoke unit).

Is it still a rocket like the old version? Or does the new drive allow for something other than dead stop and super fast? Building a larger HO layout and like the price of these units.

It's a Spectrum drive with a Standard line shell.

Been years since I bought any HO river_eagle...I take it that means it's decent at slower speeds? I can deal with lower detail models (can fix that later) More concerned with how they run.

The body tooling is also new, but not spectrum detail level, think, proto1000 vs. proto 2000 for shell.

    Aloa,

    is a purchase recommendable?

does that tune price achievement-hold back-eats?

unfortunately there are at present no standard models as alternative.

Are the drivers just stubs pressed into plastic sleeves, or have they gone to real metal axles yet?
