Certainly looks like "fast freight" to me! I like that ICE train....reminds me of the Acela. how does it run? Russ
Thats a lot of horsepower for two trucks hope the railroad accountants dont see it theyll be saying that ICE stands for I CONSUME ELECTRICITY! Whoppit
The Deutches Bahn (DB - Federal Railroad) in Germany has long run an IC, or InterCity, service. Kind of like an express or "name train" in the old days, a faster alternative to the runs that stopped at every little hamlet along the way. With the advent of the near-bullet trains, they became ICE.
Reminds me of a cartoon in Model Railroader many years ago. I guy was running an old 4-4-steamer pulling a streamlined observation car. He was telling his friend how his wife had given it to him as a present and he figured he need to run it to stay in her good graces.
Sorry Mag, but there is a faster way! JR 500 series shinkansen. [ 17. January 2005, 22:54: Message edited by: Don Rickle ]

Any Dealer that can get Kato can get the Japanese trains.. The only problem is most of them come as a 6 or 8 Carriage Set that can cost $$$ If you are after the ICE train.. Fleischmann do Two Models, the ICE2 which I have and the ICE-T (No it is not some Rapper) Which is the new Tilt Train Version Both are very well built but can cost an arm and a Leg...
