If I told my wife I was taking off for three days railfanning -she'd have me committed to the 'funny farm'.

    Mark,

It's a kitbash from Bachmann's Car Repair shed. I just cut the walls and trusses down, and used walls as the roof. Very quick and easy.

I'ts from a long time ago. I did the retro frame last year, though. Just getting to that on the project list.

Man, I don't even LIKE UP, and those are just great Colorado shots!
(Maybe now that the lawyers have retreated, you do a calendar? As Victor would say, hohohohoho)

Last week I got the Allegheny & South Side Whitcomb 65-tonner done, this weekend I finished the Grace 2900 high centercab.

On the layout world, once again City Oil in Flagstaff shows that you're liable to see just about anything there as a private plant switcher, with their passion for short-term 'have I got a deal for you' industrial locomotive leases:

This will also be the 'official note' that I've got instructions, decals, and enough kits ahead I'm offering the Tomytec resin conversion kits for the various Whitcomb 65-tonner versions. Email me or PM me if interested, I'll send out the instructions in advance as a .PDF if you provide me your email address.

I finally managed to locate a second CNW F3 at a local show yesterday enabling me to make a matching A-A set.

I soundchipped one of them and chipped the other with an NCE chip, after removing the Lenz chip that was already installed (didn't have speed tables and I was unable to match the speed of the 2 locos)

Naturally , I shot a video clip so you can also see and hear it in action.

Thanks for the kind words Hemi. I am glad you could come down. I miss having a railfan buddy that will go where most won't! I guess I will share some of my pics now.

Two very tired railfans! About 800 miles in three days, over 500 pitures, and one dirty truck! Good times!!

Amtrak 5 exits Tunnel 8. See Hemi's Moffat Route photo tour for a discription of the hike went did for these shots! Grueling!!

The first of two manifests heads West. Here new power snakes through Old 9.

Here the second Westbound manifest snakes its way between Tunnels 8 and 10.

Looking through my shots I kinda liked this one because of how it ended up being framed.

When we saw this shot after we got home Hemi and I were both surprised. A little different angle on Amtrak.

An Westbound coal empty just exited a tunnel and prepares to split the signals at E. Radium.

Lastly, this is one of my favorite shots from our trip. Westbound empty coal train just East of Troublesome, first light.

Hemi, Alaska49: you guys need to publish a coffee table book of the Moffet route. I thing you've covered it better than anyone else.

Great pics everyone else. The modeling is superb as usual.

I've been working on this area for the layout party

    The cars are looking good!

I don’t have any special shots this weekend. I was too busy to set something up.

I did make some trees as shown:

Also here are some overall shots of the RK&M. This are in disarray as you can see. That happens when parts are under construction as the Drexel Ridge is. These are not the greatest since one of my overhead lights is on the fritz.

The Water Tower Diorama is in the background here:
