I had a couple of commissions to take care of over the past 2 months and now I am finally back to the steam. First up is the C&O 2-6-6-6. Next will be the D&RGW Challenger. I have certainly missed doing the steam and glad to be back at them.

Thank you, I am glad you like it! I will post progress shots of it as I complete different sections of it. This one will be done early next week, as long as I have some uninterrupted work time over the weekend, which sometimes doesn't happen with a 2 year old running around:teeth: . Then I need to get the D&RGW finished. It is cheaper for me to produce them if I do 2 drawings at the same time. So, The D&RGW will take a little over a week and then both will go into production about 2 weeks from now. It takes about a week to get the them back and prints about a week after that. So, all-in-all probably about 3-4 weeks.

This is quite the locomotive to do. There are tons of pipes, small and large all over it. It is going to be quite a challenge to do. Probably one of my favorites when I get done as well. I love details like that. Makes them unique.

Your artwork is fantastic. How do you do it?

I like big steam, including 2-6-6-6s!

Thank you, I am glad you like it! It is all done in pencil. I sketch it in, neaten up the sketch with rulers and check measurements and then fill the areas in with lead or colored pencil.

I love the articulateds as well. Most of the new steam I have been doing have been big ones like this.

    To everyone:
If you don't mind take a minute and check out my poll in the C&O section. I need some imput.

    Thank you!

I love that drawing - but you know what? I can just see a perfect companion for this being a 2-8-4 - either N class Berkshire or K-4 Kanawha - I mean the lines are very similar, tender almost identical. Of course the 2-8-4 was designed for speed and power - a true "super power" locomotive. Your talents could do such justice to one of these!

I just recently acquired a 14" x 34" print of a B&O S1b "Big Six" by Alvin F. Staufer. Sure could use a print of a B&O T3 Mountain - one of the 5500's. Being a B&O and C&O fan, I better think about getting something from you in C&O. Maybe I should wait and see if you do a drawing of my favorite - yep - the 2-8-4 Berk or Kanawha...
I really have to hand it to you guys who have this talent!

Thank you, I am glad you like it! The original drawing took about 60-70 hours, not quite sure the exact amount but right in there somehwhere. If you are interested in the prints just send me a message and I will quote you a good price, I always give good discounts to TB members. Thank you again!

I have finally put the C&O 2-8-4 on the schedule. I will be doing it in the fall. I think it will be a 3/4 view with some sort of scenery. I have been doing research on the B&O as well, probably get aournd to something of theirs by the end of the year as well.
