It struck me while reviewing photos in RailImages that I haven't seen any N or HO or other scale railfans in the modeling photos. Do any of you feature railfans along the mainline with their cameras, tripods, scanners and such? Just wondering. :confused2:

Yeh I got one. My N scale layout has an 880 foot-tall giant who not only watches the trains but thinks he controls the universe :)

I removed my railfan figures shortly after 9/11. Just tryin' to be prototypical!

How about this pic by NYW&Amp;B? It was one I considered for an early Modeling Photos of the Week based on a Bridges theme.

Of course, a railfan should have railfans.

And there's a spot every visitor loves, just at the right:

Years ago in a British magazine I read about a modeller who was building a model of a particular station set in a particular week when some unusual traffic was running. He had one photo of that station taken in that week. The photo was by none other than the Rev Wilbert Awdry. When completed, the layout featured a model clergyman on the footbridge taking a photo. :)

    Cheers

I've seen an N-Track module with a railfan, whose camera would flash every few seconds. It was powered by a motorized disposable camera unit, fed through a small fiber optic cable.
