It could be anumber of things,... one of the last big "oops" I saw was a foreign bidder not recignizing the currency. Hey, you never know!
It's a crock. Look at the bidding history. All the bidders are named Bidder 1, Bidder 2, Bidder 3, etc. When you look at the history of the "Bidders" the only transations they have are with, you guessed it: Seller 1, Seller 2, Seller 3.....
eBay's new "hide-the-bidder" function is actually pretty cool. If you click through to the bid details, you can see mutual feedback....In the case of the guy bidding six bills on the LL Eries, his feedback is between 500 and 999, and A FULL 30% of it is with this seller. It makes it easier to separate the crooks and shill bidders (like this guy) from the genuine chuckleheads. mg: Ray
looking through his items sold, he sold Atlas locomotives in the $30.00 to $50.00 range. And this LL is over $600.00??????
Actually you might want to read a little deeper. The system is set up so that only the last 30 days of bid activity appear and then not all bidding activity appears. If the bidder placed 10 bids in the last 30 days and 3 of them were placed on this item today....then 30% of his bids were indeed with this seller. I'm not a huge fan of this system. I still like to know who I am bidding against and sometimes research their bidding history.........I want to see what they buy and what they pay.
Fake bidders, Ebay's wonderful world of stacking in favor of sellers, again... I wonder if there's a way to fake "non paying bidder".

Must be that the LL loco set has the "Jim label" placed on the boxes somewhere as the Con Cor set shows in its auction listing. I've found through research that all items placed for sale with the "Jim label" net at least 10,000% over their actual current market value.lol I've been caught in bidding wars that had me pay more than what an item is worth once or twice, but that may be a bit much.
