Anyone have an update or target date on this yet?

Seriously, I've been waiting on these ever since I got back into N scale. I bought five front runners at a trains show last weekend, simply because those and the old Con Cor spine cars are the only ones like it other than Alan Curtis, and he doesn't make his stuff anymore.

It's been "coming soon" for a LONG time now.

I think the question was when are the DI versions coming out. I'm waiting on them also. Hopefully someone from DI can answer this for us. Alan's cars are nice, but I like to run trains, not build kits. I did one of his 5 unit spine kits and it turned out nice, but it took a while to put together. I did however enjoy sliding my DI well cars out of the box and onto the rails with no assembly required. Hopefully the spines are just as nice when they finally come out.

The last few are now on ebay. As it had been 3 months since production ended, and I had been asked several times if I had any left, I put a few more on sale. It is looking positive for the N scale line to be taken up and continued - and expanded, so these will be the last from me.

Yep, now I can get ready to retire. :D (Except for one more HO kit) ;)

Hmmm...seems like there's some kind of search glitch at eBay, if I'm seeing this correctly.

If you click on this link, you'll see another one of Alan's kits still listed as of Friday evening, 5 PM PST...

However, if you do a standard search of "spine car", this (and one other) don't show up! As I post this, this one is not showing up as already sold.

    Hi Russ,

I noticed Alan still had 8 available on the link you posted. That might be why its not showing up as sold yet.

I snatched up three of the 89' flats last night. I think there's still one 89' channel side left. If there still there after pay day, he'll be down to 7 of the 53'.... :)

This thread invaded my sleep causing me to have this dream...

I was just shopping at a normal store like Home Depot and someone pushes me. I tried to regain my balance on a display at the end of an isle. As I'm knocking some of it down I realize they are all n-scale cars. But they're the Bachmann cars like the Southern gondola or the Boston & Maine boxcar, etc. But I keep going through them and I find spine cars RTR with MT couplers. Not articulated 5 units, just single spine cars (which no one has made, correct?). I dig deeper and I find some 89 flats. All of em are like $7. So I just keep stuffing my arms and that's about when the dream ended.

    Damn you intermodal rolling stock.

I just got five front runners WITH trailers for $8 a piece at a train show.

A train show that I SWORE I wasn't going to, because I didn't really have the money to go.

Alan's stuff is great, but I'm looking for three unit cars instead of the five unit ones. Although beggars can't be choosers, I guess
