I will put stop signs at least. Can't have these people flying through the intersections, now can we?

I love the name "Gulp-N-Git" As I always post, your layout is really coming along nicely. How did the pond take shape? I have to do a river in mine and will probably add "magic water" (the liquid).
If you all a stop sign, maybe cover it with a bush, with a motorcycle cop nearby. My wife once went into a small town and got a ticket for not doing a full stop and the policeman asked her "Did you not see the stop sign?" and she said "No, officer, I didn't". His reply, "It's as clear as day, behind that bush over there." (But everybody who lived in the town knew where it was.)

I had to do something about Sandy Lake. It looked milky, mostly because of the sand I used at the bottom of the lake, it was very light tan. So after about the third layer of the "water" had solidified, I mixed a bit of blue paint in clear and painted a thin layer onto the water. Once dry, I poured another thick layer of water over the blue, and this is the result. I would have liked a little subtler blue, but it looks better than it did. The blue also hides many of the bubbles that had been trapped in the water.

Thought it was time for an update. Been working on completing the West End (complete, there's an oxymoron for model railroad people).

Here's the West End, as it sits right now:

...a flatbead truck travels the gravel road towards the back of the West End.

    The cabin by the lake:

Simple Simon's Saloon, complete with bikes and bikers (and biker babes!). The pink Harley is for my wife, who owns a lipstick pink 1972 Harley Sportster.

And lastly, WJKM Radio, your eZ-Listening Station.

Good to hear from you Allydude. Wow, did you do a lot since your last post. How far is the "WJKM eZ listening radio station" from the "Simple Simon Biker Saloon" I just can't see the bikers dancing in the bar to the music of "Feelings" (maybe the Steppenwolf version of the song but not WJKM's) Seriously, the layout looks great. How many pours of the Realistic water did you have to do and nice shading of the blue in the pond.

I think I have four layers of "water", maybe five. As for WJKM and the biker bar, good thing Marklin makes Z-Scale juke boxes! :shade:

Very cool. Nice lake scene. What, no skinny dippin? Those Preisser naked figures are good for something :)

Access to hidden track can be achieved also by holes in the base under the hills. I have a "spaghetti bowl" layout made in 1980 with lots of hidden track in which I cut holes in the plywood base. I can reach every bit of hidden track from below. Removable scenery is a better way to go from the point of veiw of convenience, particularly as one ages as I have.

Hello Howard, welcome to Trainboard! You'r right, it's important that you can reach every part of your track because derailing happends often. :)

Hi allydude--How is the layout going? Have you done any more work on it? It's really coming along nicely.

Actually, this last week I haven't done much of anything due to a tight work schedule. I hoping this weekend I can get back at it and finish up the bulk of the landscaping. Then it's just detail, detail, detail...

    Thanks for asking!

Okay, though I haven't had a lot of time, I did manage to take in a model train show in Mount Pleasant, Michigan this past weekend, and picked up a few things.

I just finished this house kit (#302Z) by MPP Models. It wasn't as nice as some of the other Laser-Cut kits I've assembled, but it does make a good presentation. It's a little bit more delicate that some, but if you're careful, it turns out well. I think mine turned out better than the one represented on their website...

I rearranged the residential portion of Deadweed to show off the house a bit better. Now I need to fix the areas around those darn trees...

I like the look of the that old house, front view windows sorta make it looked neglected :) Thanks for the link, don't remember this vendor but some of their non-Z structures could be recreated in Z.

Dude, I really like what you have done to your layout. I also have those trees with the plastic base, and I like what you did to hide it.
