This weekend we are looking at the normal bi-weekly grocery tour followed by Christmas shopping. My daughter has softball pitching lesson and softball practice followed by Christmas shopping. We also will take the kids to see Santa on Sunday and while we wait we can do some Christmas shopping. Anyone notice a theme here? If I survive the Christmas shopping and can crawl down to the layout I would like to add the plaster layer to the mountain. Also I need to make a couple of coal loads and figure out what my next rolling stock project is; aka clean off the work bench.
In search of pink or blue foam. Maybe a little TOFC detail work. Company party today, so getting out early means a trip to Michael's for a few things.
After today I will be off for two weeks and won't be back until Jan 2nd. Saturday is the second of three Christmas parties this season. So with that much time off I am hoping to get several little projects done on the railroad. Hopefully I will have some pics to post of the progress.
I'm in the process of re-building the B&M layout by taking out the Woodland Scenics part and placing 1/8" plywood and pink foam and starting with a new trackplan. I'm meeting a friend for lunch then I'll see if I can shoe horn some pink foam in my Wrangler. Saturday is eye appointments, Christmas shopping and a Christmas Party. I hope to work on the layout Sunday. Jim
Mostly wiring, but I may lay some road bed under the loop track to see what it looks like. There are heaps of things to do and I tend to get distracted. I find it hard to stay focused on one project, so at the moment there are a number of half finished jobs. Then again I just might run trains. Cheers, Ken.
I won't accomplish anything this weekend as far as the layout goes. Our grown kids and grandkids start arriving tonight for a week early family Christmas gathering. Two grandsons, 5 and 11, will be disappointed that trains aren't running yet. I promised the 5-year-old that he could run a train by Christmas. I'm about half done laying the mainline track. I hope to have it all wired and soldered by Christmas. I'll worry about industrial track later. I have several industry structure kits to put together. Scenery hasn't been started but will once the mainline is ready for play.
Just poured a mold for some more ALCO parts. As soon as my RS11 shells show up I can start bashing my RSD12's:w20z6q:
Work on my module that I have not touched in a few months due to family affairs with other things. I think that also the holidays will be a fine time to do some much needed model work on as I will have 2 wks off from work.
I've got to move the modules I've been working on out of the family room to make room for wrapping Christmas presents. Since I've never posted pictures before, lets see what happens.. I Know, I know, there are no trains on the modules. I took the pictures right before I was going to pull off the two buildings and vehicles. Sorry, 'bout that. NCDaveD
Those modules look good dave. I am tracking down a helix solution this weekend and may be ordering some track for the Canton Division as well. Some unexpected Christmas money came our way and we are going to use a little for ourselves woohoo.
I'm setting up the G-scale Christmas train around the tree, then installing an end of train device on an N-scale coal hopper and boxcar, and then run the trains. Tomorrow I’m going to work on landscaping the HO-scale layout so the nephews have something new to look at this next weekend.
