Awesome building you have there, bud! Love those pictures, keep 'em coming! We're all so happy to see your dream come true
Added extra bracing here because there is going to be alot of tracks coming together from different levels. Probably going to have to add more later, but wanted to get some in now.
That makes 7X16ft of finished 'base' benchwork. I know this is a very wide area, but I want the Franklin Canyon area to be something you are really looking into, as if you were on a hill on the other side. The Canyon will be a good 4 1/2ft to the backdrop. It will be a pain if there is a derailment, but hey, the railroad would have a hard time getting to one too. The effect will be worth it.
Look how proud Kimberly is at our hard work after she eyeballed the benchwork to make sure it is straight.
Also covered the bottom legs with a thick plastic just in case water ever gets in the garage before I finish landscaping outside. You can see part of the trackplan I had drawn on the floor here.
Jerry: The benchwork looks great so far. Time to go to Lowe's for some more plywood. Have fun.... Stay cool and run steam....
Once we were all done, Kimberly headed to the workbench to wrap the cords and put the tools away while I took pictures.
Here's the 'deep' scene look I am going to try and capture with the deep benchwork in Franklin Canyon.
Hey, There's no reason in the world on why you can't make that happen. You have an eye for detaiil. Just look at some of your engines. Knowing you,the layout will have more details than the real thing .
Nothing new...... been working too many hours. But I will keep you updated as soon as I get new progress.
