A blast from the past. My first two true N scale cars. My brother sent These Arnold Rapido cars to me from Germany in August of 1967. I had fun trying to couple them up to my Lone Star 000 rolling stock.

Nice little trip down memory lane you have there!

Well I finally had some time to do some photography on the layout. Here is my IHC B&O Pacific with my new Walthers Heavyweight Coaches pulling into Castle Rock station.

    Wayne.

I only have a 2 megapixel Canon but it does the job. I have fluorescent lighting over the layout but the hint to a good photo is to turn off the flash on your camera.

Thats all I do no special software just turn off the flash and use macro.

    Wayne:

I used a Nikon Coolpix 4300 for the photo of the Two Truck Shay

I used a Nikon D50 DSLR for the photo of the Town of San Marino. I used Helicon Focus software to compile the image of the Town of San Marino. Tweive photo's were knitted into one photo.

I use color corrected fluorescents and natural light from a window in the train room. None of the phot's were taken with a flash.

The camera is mounted on a tripod and I used a timed exposure.

This is Runaway Hill, where all my Accumates break. It's a 2.5% grade around a 24-inch radius curve.

    Hi, all,

I finally got around to posting more photos of visit to the Nottingham, UK Model Railway Exhibition, visited there while laying over on a business trip in March 2006. This is one of the UK's bigger annual
model railway shows, and this one happened to have a good mix of
British, UK, and North American profiles. The website URL is:

You can click one of these three Thumbnails below to see a little more:

This is the same visit that I was lucky to run into Alan Curtis:

Here's one full size photo from my earlier post about this show follow (the following picture isn't a hot link):

OK, John Sing; more pictures for me to see. It is interesting to me that many of the Australian and British modules that I have seen have this "shadow box" appearance for the presentation. The US modules are usually much less complex in their assembly.

    Anyone follow Frisco here?

Left side of the yard at Westport is wired. So I could do some switching. The control panel shows position of motorized turnouts and manual turnouts in the main line. This way the yard master has full control.

The big news in the world of gauge 1 live steam was the arrival last week of the long-awaited Accucraft K-28. There have been some initial QC problems, but mine was in good shape and I ran her yesterday. The links below are to short WMV videos.

Wow! Neat steam videos. How do you control tham?

Guage 1 is (I think) 1:30 scale for standard gauge. 1.75 inches or 45 mm.
