This week I joined a multi-scale club in South Florida and part of the introduction was telling me about the various events they've seen in the area over the years... which led them to the 2002 train show. They couldn't stop talking about how impressive the modular Z setup was. Anyone have photos to share or direct me to? Thanks! Shawn
Shawn, That was a great show. Ztrack Magazine sponsored the Z modules in 2002. We brought groups in from Texas and Washington D.C. It was a a lot of fun! The July/August 2002 issue of Ztrack has a report on the show. The cover photo of the September/October 2002 was also taken during the show. Shawn, I was there with the display from DC. I didn't get a whole lot of photos though. The best photos are probably the ones that Rob mentioned in ZTrack. What club did you join? I know a couple others in South Florida that might be interested. John, you listening, another Z scaler in South Florida? Randy
I thought I was the only one in South Florida, and welcome to Trainboard. What are you working on?. I live in Pembroke Pines. Show us what you are working on. We would love to see some pictures.
Actually I'm an N scale guy Thanks for the leads... I am going to have to look at picking up a copy of the magazine. It sounds like a great setup, hopefully I'll find photos. I joined this board to keep up with both N and Z scale. I love both of the small scales because of the space limitations I have, along with the fact I want to model prototypical length trains. I have been in south Florida a year now and just joined the Big Pine and Sawgrass group in Hollywood, Fl. They are right on the CSX/TriRail/Amtrak mainline. There's a few N scalers. What I would love to do is get a group of folks together that want to build a modular layout (N or Z) that has a single mainline with passing sidings or a double mainline to run long strings of trains! As for what I am working on, I model modern CSX. Right now I have four AC4400s for my coal theme that I am about to put sun shades and detail parts on. After that, they are going to get weathered. I am more than willing to share photos when they are done, but I'll probably do so in the N scale area so as to not post stuff in the wrong place!
For some reason there do not seem to be a lot of photos in the forums of "Mr Dave's" layouts, although there have been many thousands of photos taken. There are a few in the main Z_Yahoo group in the file section files > pics > nmra > 2001 These would have been taken a year earlier than what you were asking about If you really want a few shots, contact me off-forum and I can get you some that were taken at the NMRA 2005 and 2006 shows. ...don
