Anyone figured out how to do this yet? I converted my engines to MTL's from the stock Kato coulpers, and for some reason, the Maxi IV's don't seem to like this very much.
Suffering from the same problems, the stock Kato couplers won't really match with the MTs on my engines. I just inspected the couplers on my Maxi-IVs, they look and also measure the same as those on the Kato superliners. For superliners, the MT website suggests either 001 30 013 (former 1129; medium shank) or 1130 (former 1130; lonk shank) as replacements. Still have to figure out how to remove the Maxi-IVs trucks, as they aren't screwed fastened like the superliners. As I don't have any of the two MTs available (not so easy on the eastern side of the Atlantic...) maybe somebody has already tried this conversion and can pass on his experience. Chris
