Cahones *LMAO* I had five spotters all around out of camera range. It went back in the display case immediately afterwards!
This is a stock Micro Trains N scale automobile boxcar. Well, I did weather the trucks. The reason I like it so much is that I also had one of these made by Lionel around 1955. Still looks good, though! Brings back some good Christmas memories.
Weathered WM gondola awaits pickup at B. Lee Transfer and Storage on my layout. This is a stock Micro Trains N scale car other than the weathering and the load.
Oldrk: That switcher is awesome! Nice! Yes, I added the graffiti. That car was an Athearn I stripped the paint, repainted it, and then put on Champ decals. The "graffiti" (if I recall correctly) is from "Clover House" dry transfers. I built that car about 18 years ago. Here's a shot of some C&O Enchantment Blue and Federal Yellow!
That is one good thing about C&O's offset quad hoppers, they can fit a broad range of time periods. They were built in the 1920's, rebuilt in the 40's, and lasted into the Chessie era (the last being retired in 1974). There were also some that never received the For Progress logo. I plan to add a couple of the Athearn' HO version to my collection sometime soon.
