Train Derailment Blocks Omaha Road OMAHA, NE -- Three Union Pacific train cars derailed Monday morning near 96th and J Streets. The cars blocked vehicular traffic for several hours. The train cars came off the track when the train was switching railcars in an industrial area, said James Barnes, a Union Pacific spokesman. One car rolled off the end of the tracks and into 96th Street. Police were called to direct traffic, Barnes said. No damage or injuries were reported. Barnes said the cars were expected to be out of the road early Monday afternoon. - Stefanie Monge, The Omaha World-Herald
Flash- Watco did the same here last year. Shoved a couple of cars through the stops. And onto a busy street during evening rush hour! mg: Boxcab E50
Been there and done that. I suppose they'll want to fire the hoghead. Maybe the remote control went haywire. Oh, they wouldn't want to blame that.
Could you imagine being in traffic, and all the sudden, from out of nowhere, a 100-ton loaded hopper rolls out into the street in front of you? Where there's no tracks?!? Doh! 'Honest, Officer, that railcar came out of nowhere and destroyed my car!!'
