I have learned from Dick Yager that Tom Nosera, one of the crew members on the bicentennial American Freedom Train of 1976-77, has passed away. Tom was a member here and posted under the name "Isboris." We never met personally but did correspond on the net. Tom was very active on the Yahoo American Freedom Train group, providing a lot of historic photos from the AFT travels, and a lot of "war stories." I don't believe Tom had reached the age of 60 yet, but am unsure. God rest his soul.
mg: Tom was just a few months older than I am now. His user name was isboris4449. He had an interest in RR car float/barge operations. Including the Milwaukee Road.  Boxcab E50
Today, I too was shocked to hear of Toms passing. I was one of the folks with him many years ago seeing the 4449 for the first time rolling through Greeley, Colorado. We belonged to the same model railroad club for several years. Due to changing careers and moves we had lost track of each other for almost 25 years. It was only a few day ago when, at the urging of Ironhorseman, I perused this site for the first time. While I wasn't looking for anything in particular, I started sniffing around the members list, and found isboris4449. Thinking that it might really be Tom, I poked around his threads and replies until I had the proof I needed. So this morning I was going to email him... Before I had the chance, another ex AFT'r called me with the sad news. This evening, we toasted him. Farewell Tom.
This is very sad news. I had wrote back and forth with Tom on the Yahoo American Freedom train site many times with questions on the train, as it is one of my favorite. What a sad loss.
