No, my lips aren't severely chapped. hehe I just installed a soundtraxx dsd-b280lc in my bachmann 2-8-0. It was working on my NCE Powercab system. I wanted to adjust the whistle volume using cv120, but I accidentally typed in cv129 and entered a value in. Everything seems to be working fine but the whistle. There is no whistle sound, not even a little toot. I looked up the use of cv129 on the nmra site and it looks like it's a non-used cv. Can someone out there be of some assistance? Thanks people Ron
Have you tried the Digitrax Yahoo group? EDIT - one other thing that occurred to me - Can you reset the decoder? I recall that Digitrax decoders can be reset, but I don't remember if you can do it with Soundtraxx...? Just an idea. Andrew
There is a CV that resets the decoder to the factory settings and is outlined in the Soundtraxx Manual for there decoders. In the manual it tells you the CV and the other steps to reset the decoder, its not as simple as a digitrax decoder where all you do is set the CV to a value and presto you are done, no with soundtraxx you have to cycle the power and stuff like that to reset it. Thanks guys for the help. I got it working without having to reset the decoder. The whistle cv some how wasn't taking the value I was putting in last night. So before I got to frustrated, I called it a night. When i had a fresh brain in my head this morning, I tinkered around abit and set the cv to a reasonable value and by golly it worked! Maybe my system needed a fresh brain also, hehe. Well, I've got to go "Whistle while i work now". Thanks again Ron
