Well, Russel, it's not so much work. I take only about four times per year part in a meeting. And not always I take Westport or Third Street District with me. Other modules are ready stored under the layout. But there's another big advantage with segments / modules. If you have to do some repair you can take down this part. This picture shows the building of my staging entrance, the throat. O.k. removing this part from the layout would be some work. But it's better than playing contortionist. Behind the kink in this segment you can see the conection to the already build staging yard. So this part is built not in place but just in front of. Happy tooot Wolfgang
I've just finished another module. In spring I promised to build a module for the anniversary FREMO-meeting in Alsfeld in October. We need more modules for a longer line. Now I have it finished. And I wanted to make photos. Unfortunately I recognize that for good photos I must practice some more. The pic shows my Kato FBL-switcher with a local. Wolfgang
Wolfgang this topic is great inspiration for me, as we're going to form a modular group (following propably the FREMO standards) and my modules will be of US trains. This is going to be the first modular group in Greece as far as I know. Thanks again Kiriakos
Kiriakos, you can find at my site under Modulbau and the following Modulkiste many pictures for a how to. Sorry text only in German, but the pictures will tell. Wolfgang
