I’m guessing that they are going to do a modern version of the Aspen Gold/Silver paint scheme with a single black strip down the sides and a big flying Rio Grande logo on the sides. We’ll find out Saturday. I’ll be there to snap some pictures from at lease the roadside but I’m trying to figure out a way to worm my way into the event. Any employees out there from UP who want to take a foamer along with them? I promise I won’t embarrass you too much.
Details on the DRGW Unveiling this weekend From John Bromley, former UPRR PR spokesman, from another site: We will unveil the DRGW heritage unit at the Denver North Yard on Saturday for our employees. A crane will lift the tarp up late in the morning. Because of the high level of interest we've decided to show off the unit to the public on Sunday as well from 9 am to noon behind the superintendent's office. I would caution that there will be no access to any other Union Pacific facilties during that time. We're looking forward to everyone's reaction. Dave Markes at our Bailey Lauerman design team did a terrific job on this unit
Happy Father's Day It figures they would now decide to open it up to the public on a day and time that most of us would have family duties to attend. :worried::worried::worried::worried:
Good catch! Heck, I would have went just to see it, Father's day or not! Well, I would, if I still lived in Chey-oming... My father's are 700 or miles away anyhow!
