Can anyone tell me where I can find Arnold CE 6383 track or possibly 0852 at a reasonable price? This is the track coming off of an Arnold turntable.
    Thanks,
    Lon

    Lon,

There are a number of such listings on the German E Bay site, www.ebay.de. Search for "Arnold 6383". I had an Arnold layout until 1984 and really enjoyed the operation of the turntable. The Euro is about a $1.30, so a CE 6383 looks like about $5.00 plus shipping. Good luck.

    Lon,

The first auction is for a used complete 3 track extension set. Three leads and three dead-ends opposite. You can use leads anywhere, even opposite other leads (throw away the dead-ends then). There may be some rust/corrosion that can be removed. This set was part of a turntable originally, and is complete, including the long and short contacts that go through the ties and make contact below.

The second auction is for rail joiners that allow other brands of track to connect to Arnold track. I don't know which makes they work with, so I would test some out first.

This seller has good feedback, takes Paypal and may soeak English. Send him a simple question, like what is the shipping cost to the USA?

He has an E Bay Shop (yellow diamond) with a lot to TT equipment. If you know everything you need, I suggest sending him the list and asking for a package price. Good luck.

    Lon,

Glad to be of help. I was in German N from 1966 to 1984, and purchased virtually everything by mail through a German company, Preston Hobbymodelle in Bamberg. They spoke English, were prompt and much cheaper than US dealers, when you could even find the product. If you model European N, I suggest you develop a similar source there. The Arnold TT was an amazing piece of work. As you know, there is much moaning and groaning -well deserved- that there is little in the way of good N scale steam today. You would think today's manufacturers would build on the expertise that Arnold, Fleischmann, Roco, etc. had 30 years ago, improving the level of detail and perhaps slower speed motors.

I model the Rutland in N; all I need is a 70 tonner and some steam.
