Living in Europe as far as I know doubles are not allowed. I have seen pictures of trucks with two trailers and wonder if these trucks are rolling on US roads or Canadian roads. Paul
Double and even triple trailers are fairly typical from about Chicago west, but are not as regular in the east. You'll see them all over the expressways of the west though.
The doubles I've seen here in the eastern US are all shorter trailers - seem to be 28' and shorter, known as "pups".
I think here in California they only allow double 28s. Once you get to Nevada it is a different story. I have seen triple 40 somethings.
Thank you all for the answers. Since I try to model Eastern railroads, no doubles on my pike except maybe 28' pups. Paul
on the new york thuway(toll) and mass pike you will see two 48'spulled by a tractor- seems like it takes forever to pass-
Hi Iam a otr driver and run time to time have run dubbles on rt81 two 48fters and on the thruway 48s and 53s
