Kirsten, I cannot add to the words already spoken here, but I do agree that your father's passing is a loss to the TrainBoard family. I do hope you are able to stay around, at least long enough for you to get a feel for what he did here and how much we appreciate it.
I knew Jim only as someone I bumped into on the forums quite often, but he had my respect and friendship....and his family has my sincere condolences and prayers...I am sorry for your loss...
Today in history, 12 January, we lost a great friend and a person of great knowledge. He will be missed. God bless.

Gee. Go away for a few days Very sad news, once again like most, I never met Jim being across the planet, but as you can tell he was respected by everyone here including myself, and seen in the highest light. Not only willing to share knowledge, but also just generally an all round nice guy. Been a bad few yrs in the hobby... Take care Bruce C.
What a shock.....The prayers of my family and I are with you and your family. Jim will be missed greatly here and all across the railfan community.
I did not know Jim, nor his postings, but if you judge a man by his friends, and from all the posts here, and all the good people of Trainboard, I can tell he was a gem of a man. I know I take Trainboard and the people behind it for granted as we all probably do over time and miss all the hard work that lets us enjoy this awesome forum. May Jim rest in peace. May his family find some comfort in the community here and in his blessed memory. My prayers are with his family and the greater Trainboard community.
Kirsten, We have lost a great friend and an asset to Trainboard. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. Maybe there is some way to keep his web site going? It would be a shame to see all of his hard work disappear.
This is very sad news. My thoughts and prayers are with his family tonight. He will be missed very much.
i remember referencing his site for various frame lengths and things like that... Deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
