After searching unsuccessfully for D&H passenger cars locally and on the net, I was made aware that Walthers is accepting preorders on a rerun of their cars with the D&H paintscheme. Not sure if they will actually get around to doing it, but thought I'd let them know that at least one guy out there wants them. For those that are interested, here are the p/ns:

223-1402216 Con-Cor - 85' Smooth Side Railway Post Office -- Delaware & Hudson (silver, blue, yellow)
    223-1401216 Con-Cor - 85' Smooth Side Pullman -- Delaware & Hudson (silver, blue, yellow)
    223-1406216 Con-Cor - 85' Smooth Side Dome -- Delaware & Hudson (silver, blue, yellow)
    223-1404216 Con-Cor - 85' Smooth Side Observation -- Delaware & Hudson (silver, blue, yellow)
    223-1408216 Con-Cor - 85' Smooth Side Baggage -- Delaware & Hudson (silver, blue, yellow)
    223-1400216 Con-Cor - 85' Smooth Side Coach -- Delaware & Hudson (silver, blue, yellow)
    223-1407216 Con-Cor - 85' Smooth Side Diner -- Delaware & Hudson (silver, blue, yellow)

Yes, I know these may not be prototypically exact  , and yes I know I can build what I need from core kits and sides  , but until my project list shortens up, I will be happy with these.

    Welcome to TrainBoard!!!!!!!

I have D&H Passenger Cars in both N and HO Scale in my collection which includes Athearn(HO), Con-Cor (N&HO), IHC(HO), Lima (N) Rivarossi(HO), and Walthers(HO). They are not all prototypical but nice models just the same. I know there are others in O Scale as well such as Mike's Train House and Branchline Trains I think has some HO also.

I know most of these can be obtained online via Walthers and I'm sure many of Hobby stores too that hold large selections.

THANKS for the heads-up on the new Smooth Side Con-Cor's coming out!!!

Darren, Your excellent website was the main source I used to look at D&H prototype and model info. Since I'm an n-scaler, there were few passenger cars made for this scale in the D&H road scheme. I did an exhaustive search (over 2 weeks of searching) on the web and locally with no luck on finding any for sale (as well as keeping an eye on ebay for two months). I really hope ConCor goes through with painting these up.

    Thanks for all the info!

My N Scale D&H Passenger set can be seen at:

    http://www.trainweb.org/dhvm/models/n_con-cor.htm

They are from Box Set #41007 and Box Set #41008 that I got a few years ago. They also had a PA ABBA Engines sold seperatly that goes extremely well with both Box Sets; and yes a "B" Unit would not be prototypical but it does take away from a nice looking passenger train. Walthers also sold them at one time but today they just list it as "Back Order" but lists that Trainmaster might have 41007 though there store.

I e-mailed CON-COR direct and asked if they had any D&H passenger cars in stock. They e-mailed me back and in no uncertain terms said that they had made 250 sets and it took them 5 years to sell out. They don,t have any plans to re-run them do to poor sales.

ConCor did TWO seven car sets. I bought both. They are nice but the paint easily scratches. Ebay has an older Rowa set up for auction.

I worked in a hobby shop and ordered the set when it was in the N scale catalog two years ago, I think. We never heard anything about them. Don't hold your breath.
