There are so many posts on this thread, I can't remember if anyone posted a Reading T-1. Here is 2100 sitting in a siding at Tacoma in May 2007.
Speaking of steam, here is a lot of it on a cold December day in 1942 on the C&NW somewhere in the Chicago area. Two 2493 class J-A Mikados are shoving a string of cars.
D&SNG I found myself back down in Silverton, CO this weekend. Here are a few of the shots that I took. Ben First some mystery steam was being delivered to the Silverton shop. I never did see what was under the tarp.
Don't remember if I posted this before, but it is worth seeing again. SP AC-9 # 3800 in coal burning days at Alamagordo, New Mexico......... Same loco between Santa Rosa N.Mex and Tucumcari, N. Mexico. That's Hwy 66 on side of mainline.........
Don't laugh, but a GREAT place to see a real Rio Grande Southern in regular running is Knotts Berry Farm. For years, I just laughed at the clown makeup on this loco. The Knotts sold out to Cedar Fair Entertainment, the park is not as nice, most of the fun rides have been removed, and it is not the same place. The ONLY good thing is they painted their equipment correctly! don't have an exact date, but arround 2006/2007
