These pictures are submitted to give you all a better look at the WVRR as it was during it's hayday. Times have changed now and the few share holders are investing in a true shortline rather than trying to keep up with the big guys.

    Photo 1

An SW1500 finishes the switching chores at Winter Valley while a railfan checks his camera. The Fall colours and the well used snow fence remind us that the weather won't be so idealic in a few weeks.

Highway compitition soon put an end to the WVRR's plans for a larger fleet of SD40's. By the early 90's most of the local traffic was handled by two or three rebuilt GP9's and the 3000 HP units interchanged freely with CN on the main line.

The largest industry in Pearson is the Brown Bear Brewing Co. They switch 8 - 10 grain cars every day as well as other brewery needs. 9004 and 9005 have just tied up for the evening.

Back in the glory days of steam some rather large power felt at home on the WVRR. Here number 31 spots a long string of cars at the ball bearing plant in Hudsons Mills. The engine, the plant, and the town, are now all gone.

A lazy summers day in Pearson. In another era a quiet day on the pond was the most exciting event of the week. Railfans check out the visiting CNR box car.

Hope you enjoyed the short tour.

The black and white shots are the real thing. You're just trying to fool us. I'm impressed.

Great Stuff! "You can't model well in N-Gauge." say the non-believers! You're right, but you can in N-SCALE! [IMG]

Pretty damn Good there. Certainly shows the boys who work in the larger scales how good we can do in our chosen scale.

    Keep up the good work

    Thanks everyone.

All your nice words are very encouraging but I've just been told by my wife, who after all is the WVRR's Senior Superintendent i/c of Landscaping, that I should spend a lot less time dwelling on the ol' N Scale layout and get that LS roadbed ready in the back yard.

    That I intend to do.

But it's raining today so I'll finish off the CPR section house and have it ready for the eliments tomorrow. I expect to have the roadbed finished in a week and I'll take a few photo's over that time.

Stay tuned in the G forum. Thanks again. And drop in if your in the Okanagan Valley some day.
