Hiya all. I was just wondering about my .sd and .s files. These are the sound files that supposedly work with the Geep 38 and Dash9 locos. There are about 3 different bells to choose from on there when I open the files (.wav) and the same for the horns, and also an alerter sound. How come the alerter doesnt work, even when I set a low (15-sec) monitor limit? And, how come I cant change the bell or horn that I'm using? If anyone can help me, it would really be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure I totally understand your question, however on the alerter sounds, make sure you have the alerter option turned on in the options section.

I'll need to look through .sd and .s files for the GP38 and Dash9 to see if I can find the situation you are talking about and see if I can give you an answer. Until recently I haven't really dealt with any of the equipment physics or sound files so I not promising anything.

Thanks for the reply anyway! Its been a while since someone answered this question. I want to hear the alerter sound in my Geep, and the alerter option is on b/c the alerter in the GE works. Even though the GE works, the time limit is still very low-10 seconds I think, no matter how much I play with the engine file. Thanks for the help anyways :-D

    Hi Dave,

Lets see if I can get you totally confused. You change the timing in the cab.sms and eng.sms files. Just make sure you open them in WordPad. Just remember to backup, backup before you change anything. As far as horns, find what you want, two files per each, and just cut and paste. The two files are regular and x for cab and external.
