I have just uploaded to Railimages 4 new pictures - the steam shots are from late 80s and 1992; the black and white shot of a diesel is from the late 1970s. Ben
This picture from Ben's album has to be my favourite! I have always been a great admirer of Sir Nigel Gresley's flagship A4 class
Glad you like it Alan. In a few minutes I will try to post the remaining three pictures here - and of course will scan more images as time allows over the coming weeks. I hope Martyn likes the 1970s diesel shots! Ben
Ben, it is very easy once you have the hang of it Click the link to go to the help page on how to post pics How to post pics
Ben, which picture is this one you tried to post. I checked the url and there is not one with that url in your album "/aax.jpg" yours only go up to "aaf" (fifth photo)
Aah, I think I understand now - in the "how to post pics" advice it said type in "aax"; I now presume that it is saying "x" to indicate that the appropriate letter should go in there according to which image you want to put up - when I was trying to do it I thought it meant you just type in "x" for each and every picture - am I correct? The picture I tried to post was the Peak at the head of a train of Mark 1s. Ben
Trying again: **Edited** Ben, it doesn't like your name in capitals, I've also changed it to the sized version of the image. Drop me a line offlist if you want a hand on this, it's one of those "when you know how" things... [ 17. November 2003, 12:14: Message edited by: Martyn Read ]
Ben, you do not have to type in anything. When you view the picture you wish to post in your album, right click on it, select properties highlight and copy the url. When you post on trainboard click the image button and paste the url you just copied into the box. Simple as that
At last! Although the image is not actually appearing in the post, at least it is only one click on the link to be able to view it - a reasonable compromise! Thanks Alan - Ben
Ben, I edited the above post to show the picture, it was lacking the img tags. Are you pasting the url into the message text instead of the pop-up image box? Use the full message reply (not the quick reply) and click on the IMAGE button below the text box, and a pop-up box will appear. Paste the url in there and it will automatically add the IMG tags. Click on edit for the post above and you will see the img tags.
Yes, I have been using the quick reply (as I am now) and must admit I was confused by your reference to an image box, as I couldn't find it! When posting pictures, I will use the full message reply. I am getting there bit by bit; thank you for all your help! Ben
The pics are looking great BTW, I used to work in Amersham, and know that station quite well. I also love all the old Midland features on the diesel pic. Thanks for sharing & I look forward to the rest.
