Jorge, I'm not sure we'll be there that long.
    But we'll keep in contact.
    Good luck Sunday!
Since we don't trespass in Little Ferry, do me a favor and give one of the 18's a little pat on the behind from the guys.

Jorge, this is the exact answer my buddy Steve sent me about industries in the Bronx:

Fertilizer (made in the Bronx), paper, beer (just
to a warehouse distributer), and the Bronx is a
stop and switching point for points East, Queens
    and Long Island.

All the newspaper that your read comes on big
    roles through the Bronx!!!

Johhny I had to work Sunday before leaving for Bingo. I stopped at the Ridgefield Park train station to talk with some of the guys that were there because my engineers wanted to stop because his dad was there. We're you there? Which guy were you?

Wow Johnny! You got my description almost dead-on. But I still insist that "It wasn't me!"

Watch out for that Johnny character though.....He's got them shifty eyes (At least when standing between tracks :D )

This is not the first time that the New York Cross Harbor has been accused of illegal dumping either. It is one of the main reasons why the NYC EDC wants them out of Bush Terminal. :-(

Russ and I were talking about who might take over the Cross Harbor since it is an important link.

    CP? CSX? NY&A? Private?

Any scuttle butt in the railroad world?
    Rumors?
    Jokes????
    LOL!

Did you get to see the latest posts from Little Ferry in the Cattle Car?

Russ sent me this site. You must have already known about it though!

Hey, Russ.......you said the 1804 had a new nose. I noticed on the roster the 1800 was involved in a wreck. I think the 1800 was paired with the 1804 in Little Ferry. Maybe they wrecked together??????????

Johnny, the 1804 had a cabinet fire (electrical). I think that this was why it got the new nose. I like it, it looks more streamlined and gives new life to the old lokie!

For a 41 year old locomotive, she sure looks good!

Hey, did you know the Staten Island Railway has two small MOW locos from 1943?

Any links to them out there??????

You are correct. They use the same GE locomotives that most of the MTA MOW department uses (GE 45 tonners) They are almost all WWII era diesels. You can find a picture of the SIRR unit here:
