Just heard a rumor that BNSF 580 is not the only B40-8W in Heritage 2 colors. Heard that 514 is also in Heritage 2 colors. BNSF 573 was just repainted in September, and it was repainted into Warbonnet.
Anybody have picturtes, Trainpix does not have a picture yet.

People have got to stop reporting unsubstantiated rumors. This one was blown away on trainorders.com.

    Trainorders??
The same trainorders with Mr Clark as webmaster???
I would not go there even if I could not get info anywhere else.
I attempted to register, I made a mistake (did not know that I had made it till his reply), sent contact form in saying I did not want to register-got a very nasty reply from him (I still have the reply.)
So, I don't even visit THAT site [IMG]

Stand corrected. Saw 514 at Hobby Warehouse Diesel Facility yesterday right next to it's clone & 2 580s all in H2 paint! Funny though they were all on the ground(shelf).

You're right, c.a.jon!!! I just came back from the Hobby Warehouse, & I saw the same three locos on the ground (shelf) --in Pumpkin mode; it's a pity though, seeing that the real 580 went thru Commerce Main (rails)yesterday wearing RED/SILVER paint!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! So much for rumors I guess.

    Just my opinion...OOOps..Just the facts...
    Thanx 4 Listenin.....Q

Hey glad to see you guys "railfan" at the "Hobby Warehouse" yard. I work there! When I posted this originally, it was because the new Walther's B40-8Ws were shipping. When they originally announced that they were doing this scheme, they said they would do 580 (which is the only real one) and an unnumbered unit. When they shipped I noticed the second one was number 514 (which is the next one to be repainted by BNSF, supposedly). I wanted to find out if this unit had actually been repainted or not. It has not! BNSF 514 does not exist, it is still ATSF 514, it has not even been "patched" let alone repainted! But it is next in line. But 573 was repainted last September with a fresh coat of Warbonnet and BNSF on the side! So who knows if 514 will ever make it to Heritage 2 now. Only time will tell.

Hope to see you guys in the shop soon!

Saw the real BNSF 514 today. It is still warbonnet but paint is in very bad shape. "BNSF" is stenciled(literally-not a decal) on cab below road # & The silver on long hood looks like someone tried to peel off the red Santa Fe. Very sad looking for Santa Fe fans. You may catch it Hobart yard or Commerce Diesel today or tommorrow. So Walthers pulled 514 out of a hat.

The "Fleet" colors (red & silver) on the freight engines don't weather very well- they look like the paint job on my wife's 1990 Dodge Caravan (peeling off) It's
a darn shame, too- I kinda like it. As much as I don't care for the Tyco-like Heritage II
    scheme, it may be an improvement over a worn-out warbonnet (yes, I prefer H I ;) )

I see these Warbonnet B40-8W's up here in Western WA all the time, all of them I have seen and the C40-8W's I see are all peeling and look terrible. Not that i like HII that much they would sure look better in that right now.

It seems as though the GM units had a better paint applied than the GE's. Could it be a primer problem? I think most of the GE's were painted in Paducha, KY. at VMV but I don't know were the GM units were painted. It is a puzzlement...

(An added note for those of you that might be wondering: GM's are GP60M's, GP60B's and SD75M/I's. GE's are BW40-8's, CW40-8's and CW44-9's.)

I know the GP60M's were delivered with bad paint that started peeling shortly after delivery, and had to be repainted at EMD/GMDD's expense(at VMV?). I don't think the GE's are victims of bad paint...just age and elements!
