Today I got a pack of 120 unpainted people, just wondering what you guys/gals use for Skin colour?

I remember in one of the mags that we get there was an artical about painting people but I can't remember which one it was (it was recent), does anyone know what issue/mag it was.

Was there an article in Model Railroader of March, 2003?

I don't have a copy, but saw one that someone else had.....

If you want people of the white persuasion, the color is called: "Flesh color".

For other people, use various shades of tan, or browns, to mahogony.

I remember see someone paint the figures black (the actual color black, not the race), then with a dryer brush, not totally dry, brush on your choice of skin tone. The black helps create the shadows and the detail of the figure pops better. I tried it with good results. I also like to paint on a darker shade of the color I want, and then add a little white to lighten the color and brush on the final color. For example, paint jeans a dark blue than finish with a lighter blue. It works for skin, hair, and cloths.

After looking at all the paints in my local hobby shop I found a paint from Games Workshop, there are several "skin" colours, from regluar skin tones to rotting flesh.......... Anyway I went with Elf Skin, it kinda looks good. I will keep you posted.

I used to work with a grand old fellow, (dead now), who drove his new car to work one day. Because I could not go out to look at it right then, I asked him what color he chose. He looked me right in the eye, and witha straight face said, "Why flesh culla ob Couse!"

He had purchased a big black Cadillac! :D

He was Mr. A. D. Fair, and always a lot of fun to work with and be around!

I use PolyScale Sand color. I think that it comes out like convincing skin color for caucasians.
