The weekend is almost upon us, so what’s your plans? I will also be working on taking down Christmas decorations this weekend. The tree went out last night. My daughter’s cheerleading squad the Drexel Hill Raiders Midgets has a competition at Gloucester County College in New Jersey tomorrow. If I have any time I would like to continue weathering the IHC 0-8-0 switcher and IHC Mikado that I have been working on. Also I would like to start back on working on the Passenger Station Diorama.
Continued break in of Atlas N Shay. Construction of two laser cut buildings. Construction of plastic power plant. Continued tests of Radio Shack rare earth magnets for uncoupling.
Attend local GATS. Work on some of my 17 GP40-2s and get the noes lights fitted into the last 7 of them. Mount 7 or 8 snow plows and make sure they all have bells. Then there's the stacks of SD40T-2s that require a look see for details.
I'm still working on the switching module I've added to the JJJ&E. The track is down and I have to drop feeders from the track to bus lines. Stay cool and run steam....
Painting, painting & more painting. Two Athearn Baldwin shells into black, two of my Atlas ALcos into maroon & lt. gray, and an Athearn SD9 shell (nose chopped, GP38-2 cab added, may add paper air filter) to finish superdetailing. The SD9 is a freelance job, and I may just start over with a RPP SD9 shell for proper scale width. SAturday, working on the club layout.
Well, I think I finally have my track-plan as nailled down as is practical; as covered in detail Here. Like any paper design, it'll never work in practise, but this time I've anticipated that. So next, I guess, is to go buy timber and start a benchwork. If I was industrious (and not so hungover ) I could probably get most of the yard area framed up this weekend.
I plan on continuing to paint and work on some home road projects. I have to finish making some decals for "repaints," too. I have 6 locomotives, a caboose, 9 pulpwood cars, 7 log cars, a boxcar, and 3 centerbeams that are in the paint queue. I have about about 10 pulpwood cars that need renumbering. I need to see what kind of progress I can make, grad school starts back up next week.
I actually got some basic ground cover down on one end of the layout last night, then painted the roof of the feed mill and started scratchbuilding an extension to the warehouse Pics later.
Well, last night ran some trains while I did some loco maintenance, lube mostly. I put my new truck tuner to work on a few cars to improve the rolling. As for the rest of the weekend, it is up in the air as to what I will do. There are soooo many kits to build, engines to work on, etc, I don't know where to start . Run your trains, they need it!- Hope everyone has a great weekend!-
I am in the process of installing a Digitrax Big Boy DCC system so I plan on trying ot figure out how to work it. Three locos with decoders now installed and two more to do this weekend if the snow does not get to deep and I have to go outside and move it.
redoing all track work and wiring on my 4x8 layout and adding a 4x2 extension and most likely going broke doing so
Vist an old freind and visit the LHS that her brother in law runs Done Bought 4 Atlas freight cars including 2 on sale at $6.75. Visit U Do It Electronics and get wire stripper and panal ampmeter. Done Oooops, got an Ampmeter rated at 30 Amps. Is that ok for my N scale engines? Never mind: I just stuck my head in the Electronics forum, (to look up the name of the what was recomended to me), and there was the answer. [ 09. January 2005, 03:28: Message edited by: Grey One ]
