Hey guys and the few gals out there,
I got some really exciting news for everyone an all (I'll also post this in the staff forums as well)

Anyway, back to the good news...

On Wednesday January 19th, 2005 at 8:38 AM I became the father of a 9 pound 4 ounce baby girl. Named Lily Annamae!

Happy to say that also on October 3rd 2004, I have married the woman of my dreams to fullfill my life, thats been a long time friend and companion, for the last 6 to 7 years.

She's been there for me in times of need, an sadness, through times where she and I were only friends an such, when I needed or wanted a shoulder to cry on in desparate times with loss of family an even close friends, even as a friend there for me as a friend when I was dating another girl, and supported an helped me through those times. She continues to do so. As a result, of my relocation last Febuary, it was in concern of her an family, she originally lived in New Hampshire, was born an raised here, an at the time I met her 6 or 7 years ago, she moved to Pennsylvania, an lived there for around 2 years before I met her, we got to be friends and such. Got to know each other, an supported each other an it falls down to the times when I was dating other girls, was there for me in the bad times with that even. Now thats all come to pass!

Now being we knew each other an feelings began to grow a few years ago, neither of us made any attempt to say how we felt for quite some time till about 2 years ago. When I was seeing another girl an she had hurt me an thats about the time I heard an felt the feelings that I have now an will happily continue to have, not to mention a family of my own.

In all this, I have to give thanks to those few out there thats been a good talking friend in bad times an such that helped me through times, you all may have not even knew how bad at times I felt, I used the hobby to keep my mind off things an all. Well Jessica herself as well helped me an thats what brought my big move from Pennsylvania to New ampshire along, she wanted to be closer to family as her family had moved bach here 2 years ago, so, at the time I had relocated, it was 2 years in Pennsylvania for her an I and not to loose her, I chose to move with her an thats what I did. To save something I may have never had the chance to have again if I hadn't moved. Nor would have had the friend I still got because of it, and surely not the woman I got to call my own as a wife, that gave me a family as well. Not to mention, maybe a lil train fanatic in training!

I'm sorry if this bothers anyone in the modeling forums, but those who know me, I wanted them all to be able to read this. So they can see an understand alittle as to why I haven't been around alot an so they know whats been going on in my little world an why its so hectic at times, but worth every second!

Lol! Congratulations on your new addition. All you have to do to make it modelling related is something like this:

"I'm proud to announce a new addition to my ops session....."

    Congratualations again.

    Congratulations. [IMG]

But, you realize that all the young rrer's like your daughter are going to like diesels better than steam! ;)

Not only that, but she won't even know what a boxcar is...only intermodal. See what problems you have created here!!! And these are the easy one's, believe me! [IMG]

Thanks everyone! I know this forum requires pictures, however at the present moment I'm using one the hospitals computers an such to send my good news around to everyone.

As for the young engineer, an the pros an cons of a new born in the modeling world an the steam an diesel thing with the older rolling stock, I have to say, I have some teaching to do huh? I can acknowledge her to what steam is, an to like it better then diesel, (what ya take me for! HA! :D ) As for the intermodal an box car mentioning, I can again teach that too HE HE HE HE (Mommy may not like it, I bombard her with it so......) :D

Once I'm home, an all the pictures are developed, an put onto a disk, I'll be sure to post them for everyone to see what this daddy is proud to annouce!

Thought you'd been guiet, you dark horse. Congratulations and good luck to both. It sounds like things turned out good for you.

As for the trains - well, you'll just have to have two (or more) layouts [IMG] [IMG]

    John,

Congratulations! Glad to hear there's another up and coming railroader in the world! :D [IMG]

I think this forum is a very good place to post your announcement. I don't mind a bit!

Though I wouldn't worry too much about your daughter liking diesels over steam. I've found that women tend to like steam engines over diesels in most cases.

Get some sleep while you can!

Thanks again guys! It feels great to have all this now! And will continue as well!

Yes, talk about busy... man o man you all know it! (specially those with kids or lil ones already) :D so. But I must say the lil bundle of joy that I got is a quiet one! For a girl even! :D Opps sorry Barb HA! Anyway shes a very content lil tike. Just as her daddy was 26 years ago.... My mom an grandma says that I was quiet like that till I was able to talk HA HA HA

    Pat,
Yes, I know of the girl and woman thing with steam compared to diesels.... They do tend to pick the steam over the diesel. all because of the "movement" of all the rods when being ran. They tend to like the "action" going on. But in any case, I'll be teaching her what this an that is... (I went out yesterday an bought a lil pink engineers hat for newborns its a tiny thing!) But it came with a regular size hat thats pink also so..... shes well covered! :D

    John:

    Congratulations on multiple "good orders!"

As for the forum thing, I think I can safely say we're all friendly here (at least when we remember our meds) and good news is ALWAYS well received.

Possibly a 4-6-0, or the like with a 5 or 6 car passenger train consisting of Overton Passenger type cars! So. I just may have the "pink" idea stomached! ;) But, But, But, But shes my lil girl! :D

Once I find the white spray paint, I am doing to finish this out with a basic red tender/cab with a white band raight about the Overland stripe/cab window altitude...but yes...its Pink ;)

The thougth of it has already driven a number of people to the phones to get me into a hospital!!!

I am going to get a repower kit from NWSL, and put that inside...and pull a string of perhaps gray overland or red/white Homeroad Heavyweights...I expect it to really open up a lot of eyes...hehehe
