I would agree to a certain extent with Russ , on the other handm I like that hat/T-shirt Idea "one X-Large for me!!" I'll probably take the NARA logo and put it on the cabs under the number of all of the A&A's New SD's(70MAC's) A&A's SD70MAC #6183 (hence the name) will be a bark blue unit with NARA logo and Operation Lifesaver lgos beside each other. When I get that new brass done, I'll display it.
Now that's an awesome idea. I think I'll put the boys in the paint shop to work in designing a special paint scheme for one of the HVRR's F-units! Russ/NYC The Hoffman Valley Railroad NARA member#28
Okay. I don't want to start the big logo debate again, but if anyone wants to buy NARA t-shirts, sweatshirts, coffee mugs or mouse pads, there is a new NARA online store set up. I don't make a thing off of this, so buy `em if you like `em, and ignore it if you don't! Click here for theNARA company store.
Definately will get one or two. Hopefully we could start seeing good folk wearing them to shows so we could interchange ideas. Good work! Russ/NYC The Hoffman Valley Railroad NARA member#28
Corey indicated a possible database with member industries and loads. Great idea. The Ops SIG group over at groups Yahoo (ex egoups) has a database with about 14,000 industry locations, some modeler based. I recently added about 400 locations for the LIRR (www.NYandW.com line) Perhaps this idea is a start for the format. Excel/txt based. The group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ry-ops-industrialSIG The files: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ry-ops-industrialSIG/files/ Best, Steve Lynch
Today I read all posts in this topic and can comment like this: I agree that it is not necessary with the scale info, but fun to know. That is, I should like to see it there. NARA freight cars? Why not if it is possible to get anyone to fabricate a small serie to the "right" cost. I think I will get T-shirts to me and the Boss. Corey´s list of industries is an interesting idea. I´m surprised my self when I checked out how many companies I have in Sandy River. I might do a list of them and what they can produce and what they need, but I will wait until I see if anyone else have other ideas. ------- Helge SR&WF NARA member #5
Be carful, guys we don't want to get too big,and get split up like poor 'ol Microsoft . yeah, I think the t-shirt's are cool!!!
Brent ot John, I suggest this topic be moved to the pit because NARA includes all model railroads not just free lance thanks
Brent or John,I concur with my friend Robin about moving this thread to the "Pit".I probly should have put it there in the first place, but this is where NARA got started. <marquee>North American Rail Alliance</marquee>
